YOUR FUNDRAISING DOLLARS AT WORK!

Since 2008, $4.1 million dollars raised through the Believe Walk has been donated to cancer-fighting organizations in this region. The commitment by Stater Bros. Charities & Inland Women Fighting Cancer to ensure that the money raised through the Believe Walk will benefit cancer-fighting organizations in this community is why thousands of people have joined in the efforts to raise money to support this cause!

In 2008, Stater Bros. Charities and Inland Women Fighting Cancer made a commitment to raise $750, 000 to support a new cancer resource center at Loma Linda University Cancer Center. To date, through the efforts of the Believe Walk we have surpassed that contribution. In the late summer of 2013, the Stater Bros. Charities & Inland Women Fighting Cancer Patient Resource Center at Loma Linda University Cancer Center will open its doors to all cancer patients who need support service.

Loma Linda Children's Hospital, Oncology is a leader in pediatric cancer care in the Inland Empire and a natural fit to our mission to become partners in the fight against cancer. In 2013, Stater Bros. Charities & Inland Women Fighting Cancer partnered with Loma Linda Children's Hospital Pediatric Oncology by providing funding to enhance support services for families that are receiving care. Loma Linda Children's Hospital provides many services that help families navigate their cancer treatment.

Since 2010, Stater Bros. Charities & Inland Women Fighting Cancer has provided funds to St. Bernardine Medical Center to upgrade imaging equipment that has an impact on cancer diagnosis and treatment. The Center for Imaging at St. Bernardine Medical Center offers some of the most comprehensive, state-of-the-art outpatient imaging services available to patients in the Inland Empire. With the latest additions to the Center’s advanced technologies and services, St. Bernardine has significantly expanded patient access to a full complement of women’s diagnostic and biopsy services, as well as educational programs.

In 2011, Stater Bros. Charities & Inland Women Fighting Cancer made a commitment to partner with Redlands Community Hospital to upgrade their mammography equipment. The upgraded equipment is a valuable tool in detecting and treating cancer and improves the outcome of women's health through early detection. In 2012 to compliment the mammography equipment, Stater Bros. Charities & Inland Women Fighting Cancer made an additional donation to upgrade the ultrasound equipment. Early detection of cancer is the key to a healthy outcome for patients. Several advanced diagnostic technologies are used at Redlands Community Hospital, including Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), CAT Scan (Computed Axial Tomography), Mammography, Ultrasound Imaging, PET (Positron Emission Tomography), and Nuclear Medicine and through the Believe Walk cancer care is advancing!

Support services are part of a holistic approach in treating cancer. The services that are not typical in clinical care are, as important to the healing and wellness of cancer patients as they navigate their diagnosis and treatment. Stater Bros. Charities & Inland Women Fighting Cancer provides funds that support Michelle's place Patient Navigation Services, Educational Resources and Wellness Programs. These services provide cancer patients with assistance during diagnostic procedures and through diagnosis and treatment to ensure that patients are receiving timely and appropriate care.

Through the proceeds of the Believe Walk, Stater Bros. Charities & Inland Women Fighting Cancer have made contributions to the Beloved Foundation in support of families caring for loved ones who are terminally ill cancer patients. The Beloved Foundation, a non-profit in Redlands California, was established to ease the burden on families who are struggling financially while caring full-time for a loved one who has been diagnosed with cancer and is under hospice care. The Beloved Foundation provides financial support through grants and daily living support services such as free therapy with a licensed marriage and family therapist, meals prepared and delivered, as well as light housekeeping

In 2013, the Believe Walk made a contribution to Oasis of Southern California, a non-profit that supports and educates the public on Ovarian Cancer. While the ninth most common cancer among women, ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer-related death rate among women and is the deadliest of gynecologic cancers. Since cancer of the ovaries is often not detected until the later stages, Stater Bros. Charities & Inland Women Fighting Cancer partnered with Oasis of Southern California because it is important that we bring awareness to early detection, and support services for those who have been diagnosed. Stater Bros. Charities & Inland Women Fighting Cancer made a contribution to Oasis to further their mission to bring much-needed awareness and support services to the Inland Empire communities.
