In 2008, Stater Bros. Charities and Inland Women Fighting Cancer made a commitment to raise $750,000 to support a new cancer resource center at Loma Linda University Cancer Center and it’s through the efforts of the Believe Walk we have surpassed that contribution. Funds continue to support programs at the resource center including navigation services, genetic risk and distress screenings, financial assistance, appearance center, support groups and more. These programs will address the physical, psychological, social and spiritual concerns of cancer patients and their families in our communities.

In 2011, Stater Bros. Charities and Inland Women Fighting Cancer made a commitment to upgrade their mammography equipment. The upgraded equipment is a valuable tool in detecting and treating cancer and improves the outcome of women's health through early detection. Since then, funds have continued to support the upgrade of various imaging equipment. Several advanced diagnostic technologies are used, including Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Mammography, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), CAT Scan (Computed Axial Tomography), Ultrasound Imaging, PET (Positron Emission Tomography) and Nuclear Medicine. Early detection of cancer is key to a healthy outcome for patients and it’s through these efforts cancer care continues to advance.

Oasis of Southern California supports and educates the community on Ovarian Cancer. While the ninth most common cancer among women, ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer-related death rate among women and is the deadliest of gynecologic cancers. Stater Bros. Charities and Inland Women Fighting Cancer partnered with Oasis of Southern California to bring awareness to early detection, and support services for those who have been diagnosed. Believe Walk funds have furthered the expansion of their Comfort Bag Outreach program which provides comfort bags to women diagnosed with ovarian cancer at four hospitals within the local communities.
