Pregnant with cancer??

Pregnant with cancer??

Whoever heard of a woman being pregnant and having cancer!!! I certainly never thought it would happen to me. It was an experience that has shaped my life and helped me to know what is important in life and to never take life for granted.

I had a lump removed from my back after giving birth to my 3rd daughter in 1981. The lump turned out to be a lyposarcoma- a rare tissue cancer.I had the lump for my entire pregnancy so it meant I was caring cancer as well as my baby. I couldn't breast feed my newborn because I had to go through chemo and radiation. I'm grateful I had excellent care and support from my family, friends and church to get me through this ordeal. It's been 31 years and my BABY is doing great- she's a mom to a 10 year boy- they are both healthy & strong. I've had the opportunity to help 3 very close friends who have had cancer so I know my experience was for a purpose- to help others in some way.
